Fixed Pod Aquamot 3kW Description:
You can’t see it from the outside, but you can clearly feel its performance: the Trend line of flange motors has everything a sailor’s heart desires. A high-tech motor system, an aerodynamically optimized lightweight aluminium housing, a highly efficient propeller on a stable motor shaft and a vibration-damping compensation plate for maximum propulsion. In short, an engine that is second to none.
The extremely efficient brushless motor operates at low speeds. This means that a great deal of power is transmitted silently to the sturdy stainless steel shaft. Motors with the lowest drag resistance offer an optimum flow pattern to the downstream propeller. Thanks to the specially developed folding propeller design, the motors achieve the highest thrust values and are therefore market leaders. To ensure that the motor delivers the maximum possible propulsion at the end, we offer customized compensation plates so that the motor can be mounted parallel to the waterline. In addition, this dampens mechanical vibrations and ensures maximum smoothness of operation.

What power is required?
All motor models are specially designed for sailboats as a calm pusher, but also suitable for smaller motorboats. In order to have sufficient reserves against wind and waves, we recommend the Trend 2.2 for boats up to 2.5 tons, depending on the hull shape, the Trend 4.3 can be used up to 4.0 tons.
How long can you drive with the Fixed Pod Motor Trend 3.0?
The driving time naturally depends on the capacity and quality of the batteries.
Below are examples with the Aquamot Longlife Deep-Cycle batteries.
| Trend 3.0 with 4 Aquamot ALS batteries 12V/260Ah | Trend 4.3 with 4 Aquamot ALS batteries 12V/260Ah | |
|---|---|---|
| Partial load | 12 h 00 min | 10 h 00 min |
| Half load | 06 h 30 min | 05 h 30 min |
| Full load | 02 h 55 min | 02 h 15 min |
How are Fixed Pod Motors to be placed?
Generally, fixed pod motors are positioned between the keel and the rudder. The motor should be closer to the keel than to the rudder. The reason for this is that turbulence can occur behind the propeller, potentially causing vibrations at the rudder. Furthermore, the motor is also in the leeward water of the keel, thus having less drag. Additionally, fixed pod motors should be arranged parallel to the waterline. For this purpose, Aquamot offers custom-made compensation wedges, which simultaneously dampen vibrations.
What is included in the scope of delivery of the Fixed Pod Motor Trend 2.2 - 25.0?
In general, everything is included in the drive package except batteries and charger. From the highly efficient motor incl. Fixed propeller & vibration-damping balancing plate, on-board computer and speed switch through to speed switch and on/off switch, everything is included. As an option, a folding propeller can be purchased to reduce towing resistance and a custom-made balancing wedge to make installation easier.
How long is the warranty period?
The warranty period is 2 years.
