Steerable Pod Aquamot Trend 4.3kW Description:
The underfloor motor is particularly suitable for those who want a clear stern. The motor is located rotatably under the hull, guarantees extremely high maneuverability and frees up the rear of the boat (for example, for bathing platforms). This means that there is no interference with the boat’s design language. A real win-win situation.
The heart of the drive is located in the drive housing. Slow-running motors transmit power to the propeller without gears via a stable stainless steel shaft. The stable propeller, which is also used in commercial shipping and submarines, ensures a unique dynamic propulsion. Thanks to the extreme skew, not only enormous thrust forces but also a low noise level was achieved, which means that conversations on board are easily possible. In addition, the anti-cavitation plate prevents air from being sucked onto the propeller, enabling the motor to be immersed to the shallowest of depths. Should you run aground despite being careful, this is not a problem for the energy package. The steering fin is not only highly maneuverable but also has a predetermined breaking point that prevents major damage to the motor. The cast housing is also made of a seawater-resistant aluminum alloy and a 6-layer coating against fouling and corrosion. The shaft is height-adjustable and is much larger than comparable products.

What power is required?
Both the Trend 2.2UF and the Trend 4.3UF are suitable for dinghies and smaller boats. To have sufficient reserves against wind and waves, depending on the hull shape, we recommend the Trend 2.2 for boats from 2.0 to 2.5 tons; the Trend 4.3 can be used up to 4.0 tons.
How long can you ride with the Trend 4.3 underfloor motor?
The driving time naturally depends on the capacity and quality of the batteries.
Below are examples with the Aquamot Longlife Deep-Cycle batteries.
| Trend 2.2 with 2 Aquamot ALS batteries 12V/260Ah | Trend 4.3 with 4 Aquamot ALS batteries 12V/260Ah | |
|---|---|---|
| Partial load | 10 h 00 min | 10 h 00 min |
| Half load | 05 h 30 min | 05 h 30 min |
| Full load | 02 h 15 min | 02 h 15 min |
Can the battery bank be increased or decreased with the Steerable Pod Motors Trend 4.3?
Of course, there are many ways to increase or decrease the range. In principle, however, only traction batteries should be used, which have also been designed for higher currents over a longer period (ATTENTION: no starter batteries or semi-traction batteries). In addition, a minimum capacity of at least 110Ah is recommended. All batteries should have the same capacity in order to achieve the highest possible service life. Always ask your Aquamot dealer or Aquamot about the capacity design beforehand.
What is included?
In general, everything is included in the drive package except batteries and charger. Thus, the Steerable Pod Motors Trend also include the driving lever and on-board computer. In addition, the bracket for lamination can also be purchased. The cable lengths are standardized (3m main cable, 30cm the battery brackets, 6m control cable to the display and driving lever). Cable extensions can of course also be purchased.
How long is the warranty period?
The warranty period is 2 years.
