The larger TEMO 1000 steps up to 1,100 W with a removable 940 Wh pack for bigger dinghies and small sailboats.

How Much Power Do You Actually Need?

Electric outboards are rated in watts and kilowatts, while the HP figure beside them is a comparison to what a gas outboard of that size would do for you. The two do not convert on a fixed ratio, and manufacturers draw the line differently at each size, so treat HP as a rough guide and the kW number as the real specification. Inflatable Boats for Every Adventure

Inflatables are where electric makes the most obvious sense: light hulls, short runs, and no fuel can sloshing around in the locker. For a 2.5 to 3 m roll-up with one or two aboard, a 500 W eLite is usually enough to get to the mooring and back. Move up to a 3.3 m keel boat or a small RIB with three people and gear, and 1 kW of Spirit sits in the right place. Past that, a hard-floor RIB carrying a real load starts asking for 2 to 3 kW. How Electric Outboard Motors Work

A sealed brushless DC or AC motor converts battery-stored energy into prop-spinning thrust. Integrated controllers regulate amperage, while waterproof battery management systems keep cells balanced and IP67-safe. Plug into 120 V shore power, a DC alternator, or a solar array. Charge times run from about two hours on a small integrated pack to a full overnight session on a large bank, depending on the model and the charger you use. Regenerative props (ePropulsion Evo series) even harvest energy under sail.
